Day After Day

Frances Day

It’s the weekend! It’s hot and sunny outside – the perfect day for 2 hot blondes who were definitely ahead of their time – Frances Day and Doris Day.

I’m a sucker for a good read on a hot day and these two women don’t disappoint. You may know Doris Day from her long career as a singer and actress, but you have probably never heard of Frances Day. Once you read her story though, I doubt you will be able to forget her.

Unlike Doris, there is little known about Frances and very little film of her. Click here to see Frances perform with The Savoy Hotel Orpheans.

So to celebrate 2 weekend days of sun, I give you 2 beautiful Days. Enjoy!

Are You A Modern Wife?

Well, apparently, I am! And that’s a good thing! The UK’s The Mirror published an ancient text they unearthed from the 1930’s! Though not truly ancient, based on today’s standards it is.

It’s a short quiz, supposedly to test your “housewife” skills. I took it and based on 1930’s standards, I am a “very poor” housewife – and proud of it!

I often think that I was born in the wrong era, but this makes me realize that we’re better off today, ladies. I’m so glad that darning socks, forgoing red nail polish and letting my husband sleep late on Sundays is no longer required of a “good” wife!
